Newsboys take thirteen DigiMaxLT's on Adoration Tour

The Newsboys Adoration Tour kicked off in December 2004 featuring Newsboys, Rebecca St James, and Jeremy Camp (along with thirteen DigiMax LT's).

Sound for the Adoration Tour is provided by Sound BlackHawk Audio, Nashville, Tennessee. FOH and Monitor Consoles provided by Internally Sound, Milan, Tennessee with Newsboys mix engineers John O’Neil (FOH) and Garry Brown (Monitors)

The Rig

The Front of House console (Yamaha DM2000) is loaded with six PreSonus DigiMax LT's, and the Monitor console (Yamaha DM2000) utilizes seven PreSonus DigiMax LT's for a total of 72 front of house preamps and 80 monitor preamps. Each DigiMax is connected to the DM2000 via a lightpipe cable.

A combination of single ( 8 input ) and dual ( 16 input ) input cards are used in each console. The first DigiMax is the digital clock master. The clock is sent to the Yamaha through the first unit's lightpipe cable. Coax cables connect the first unit coax clock output to the other DigiMax units. This tour has 2 splitter systems and 2 snake systems. Both snake mults are in the console rack case. This case design makes connecting the console as simple as connecting an analog desk.

"The combination of the DM2000 with the PreSonus DigiMax LT's are fantastic." says Monitor engineer Garry Brown, "The DM2000 gives us total recall for three bands which saves an enormous amount of time every night plus we get rock solid reliability, tons of high quality preamps, great sound and an extremely compact set up. On top of that, we are able to mulitrack the Newsboys every night. This rig is a mix engineers dream."
